The annual Highland Park Literary Festival is next Thursday, February 21. The keynote speaker is Markus Zusak, author of The Book Thief and I Am the Messenger.
I’ve been fortunate to have participated in the HP Lit Fest for the past 3 years and it’s been a sheer delight each time. The annual festival features an evening of readings and conversations with a keynote speaker and is open to the public. The following day over a dozen professionals from the literary community teach over 60 workshops to the students of Highland Park High School. The workshops run the gamut from poetry and fiction to mixing music and performance with literary traditions. Local luminaries have conversations with students and talk about their experiences with art and literature and how it’s directed their career.
To find out more, visit hplitfest.org. The evening reading open to the public begins at 7p.m. Let us know if you’ll be there and come say hello to Matthew or Kristin! You can also browse or purchase copies of our most recent Premium Print Edition, in addition to many other books and publications that will be on display. It’ll be a fantastic event, so if you’re in the Dallas area, don’t miss out on this literary festival!
